Canadian Lipid Nurse Network is very pleased to launch our online education course! This course has been designed to enhance knowledge on lipids and dyslipidemia, including key aspects of cardiovascular risk factor management. Specifically, the course discusses cardiovascular risk reduction in both children/adolescents and adults. The course also includes updated information from the published 2009 Canadian Cardiovascular Society/Canadian Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Dyslipidemia and Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease in the Adult. We hope that this course will be a resource to health care professionals as they strive to help individuals reduce their risk for cardiovascular disease. If you are interested in learning about cardiovascular risk factors and an overview of the strategies to support risk reduction, this course is for you!

2009 Canadian Cardiovascular Society/Canadian Guidlines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Dyslipidemia and Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease
in the Adult - 2009 Recommendations

The Canadian Lipid Nurse Network (CLNN) is an independent, non-profit organization for nurses and other health care professionals who share an interest in dyslipidemia and other cardiovascular risk factors.

The objectives of the CLNN are to:

  • Promote standards for dyslipidemia management in Canada
  • Promote standards for management of all cardiovascular risk factors
  • Provide education about lipid metabolism and dyslipidemia to health care professionals
  • Provide resources on cardiovascular risk factor management to health care professionals
  • Partner in programs to raise awareness of dyslipidemia as a cardiovascular risk factor
